I’m Aunt B and this blog is my house…that sounds weird.
This blog is like my house in the sense that when people visit I want to inspire them to create a cozy environment that is rich in warmth and joy in their own homes.
The best way I know how to do that is by sharing recipes, trying new hobbies, learning new skills, creating healthy habits, and spending time with friends and family.
Well…how did it start?
When I was in college I lived in an apartment with 3 other girls. Our apartment was the place for our friends to escape from the craziness of campus life. We would have movie nights, sleepovers, community dinners, and gooey chocolate chip cookies. It was not uncommon to find a friend sleeping on the couch.
Looking back to my childhood I realized that the reason why my apartment became a haven was because of the way my aunts hosted people in their homes.
They would share stories, sing songs, make crafts, talk about what books they were reading, make dinner, etc. They each created such an inviting place to stay that it made me want to create one myself.
Fast forward to now
My husband and I got married in March 2023, and since then we have learned how to host in our own way.
We learned that keeping a full house of friends breeds an environment of familiarity. You can tell if a house is lived in, the furniture is worn by laughter, the walls keep photos of memories, and the kitchen is always bustling.
So make yourself at home
